CSFS Autumn Conference 2025:20/20 Vision – Call For Papers
CSFS Autumn Conference Call for Submissions 2025
The Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences Autumn Conference 2025 will be held at Horizon Leeds on Friday 7th November. We look forward to welcoming you all again to this excellent venue for what we hope will be another fantastic event.
The conference title this year is ‘Learn from the past, but don’t live there’ embracing the theme 20:20 Vision, examining how in order to be successful and to continuously improve, those involved in the forensic sciences often need to look forward and backward at the same time.
It has been 20 years since the publication of the House of Commons’ Forensic Science on Trial report and within the conference presentations we will look to reflect on how the forensic sciences have been shaped and formed since that report was published, and, looking forward to the next twenty years, how the forensic sciences might be shaped in a future with increasing technological input. In essence we will be reflecting on both how far we’ve come and looking to the future.
For the morning session we seek submissions from academics, practitioners and policy makers which look at the lessons learned over the past 20 years. Case discussions, how research has progressed the forensic sciences and reflections on our changing landscape are all welcome.
For the afternoon session we seek submissions which focus on the future – new technologies, approaches, methods and trail-blazing ideas – how are we forming the future of the forensic sciences?
As in previous years, we will have a parallel learning and teaching session which also explores this theme. How do you engage those learning about the forensic sciences within our universities or within practice, how has this changed and what are the opportunities available to enhance the training and education of our community to ensure we are ready for the next twenty years of practice.
Presentations should be approximately 20 minutes, and we will also allow time for questions and/or discussion within each session.
We also welcome poster submissions from across the community and will once again have a dedicated poster area.
Abstracts should be submitted to nicola.schumacher@csofs.org by Monday 30th June. Please indicate in your submission if it is for oral or poster and which session you wish to be considered for.
Submission pro forma Autumn 2025
We greatly look forward to receiving your submissions.
